Legendary country singer Randy Travis is back with new music thanks to artificial intelligence (A.I.). In July of 2013 Travis suffered a debilitating stroke which affected the left side of his brain and impacting movement on the right side of his body. The stroke also caused aphasia which robbed him of his ability to sing and speak. Through years of rehabilitation and the help of his wife, Mary, he’s learned to speak and walk short distances.

Over the past few years, Travis and his managers have released previously unheard songs that he recorded several years ago, but most recently, it was decided that he should release a new song. Giving his health concerns and his inability to sing, how would it be possible to record a new song? Thanks to artificial technology, the impossible was turned into possible and that iconic Randy Travis sound was back.

The new song is titled “Where That Came From” and was put together with the help of singer James Dupre and the latest technology. The song was crafted with the assistance and approval of Randy Travis and his wife Mary. Producers were able to lay down Travis’ voice with the help of A.I. on top of the song sung by Dupre, creating that true Randy Travis sound. The project was not an easy process, but it has given Travis, and all his fans, something to be proud of.

Travis landed his first top 10 hit in 1985 with “1982” before landing his first number one song in 1986 with “On the Other Hand.” Since that time he reached the top of the chart 15 more times and scored numerous top career 10 hits. Songs like “Forever and Ever, Amen,” “Deeper Than the Holler,” “Diggin’ up Bones,” and “Thee Wooden Crosses” are just a few of his many recognizable and widely loved compositions.
