620 CKRM Country Cookout #4 with Woody & Helena Blaser near Cupar

Thanks to all of our sponsors involved this year.

Just another memorable day on our 620 CKRM Country Cookout. I start off by checking out the village of Markinch along Highway # 22. If the olé Markinch hotel could only talk, what tales it would tell. I remember their use to be biker rally’s there.

Next we made our way to the stomping grounds of legendary NHL Defensemen Eddie Shore…..Cupar. It is also the home to artist Jacqueline Berting. One of her best known works is The Glass Wheatfield, encompassing 1,400 waist-high glass wheat stalks, each piece individually hand cut and lamp worked. Berting calls her work “a salute to the Canadian farmer”. Cupar is definitely an ag community with a lot to offer.

I took a little side trip to Dysart also. The village was named for was named for Dysart, Fife in Scotland and was incorporated as a village in 1909.

After our stay in Cupar we headed to the Blasers’ south of town. We had a great visit with Woody and Helena.

Caught a couple of our sponsors in action. Ray Riel of MYFARMPLAN.ca and
