620 CKRM Country Cookout #5 Near Midale-Halbrite, SK

Spent the day at the junction of grain, gas & recreation…better known as Midale, SK. We were in town to celebrate the seeding season with our 620 CKRM listener Sandy Nygaard and family, friends/neighbors. We appreciate all those involved. Midale has a lot to offer. #Harvardmediaeverywhere Harvard Media

Before we made it to Midale I stopped in to Halbrite to check things out. Lots of character here.

Now we spent the day in Midale, Sk. Midale back in the day was known only as the Halbrite and Macoun “siding”. It was time for a name. The name “Mitchell” for Dr. R.M. Mitchell, who single handedly served an area from Moose Jaw to Estevan from 1899 to 1903 was first suggested but there was already a “Mitchell” in the Territory of Assiniboia so a compromise was necessary. The first two letters of “Mitchell” were combined with the last name of the first settler in the district, Mr. Ole Dale, and “Midale” was born. What a great community.

It is a must when in Midale to stop at the Heritage Village and Museum. We have come a long way in technology but I love the old machinery… I can imagine them in operation. They also have a big rodeo here every year.

Before we got to the cookout I had to swing by Mainprize Park. Just a beautiful part of the province.

Next we were off to go hang with our cookout winner Sandy Nygaard and her family, friends & neighbors. What a great night!

Cody Glydon and Perry Nyhus work the crowd.

Shout out to Karissa Hoffart for providing the music for our great event.

Here’s how we Roll!
