Aggravated assault results in second homicide of 2022 in Regina

A 43-year-old man has died following an aggravated assault earlier this month, resulting in the Regina Police Service charging a 34-year-old man with second-degree murder.

Tresen Sutherland was charged with second-degree murder, the second homicide of 2022 in Regina.

On March 5, at 8:06 pm, police were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Rae Street to report an assault in progress.

Police located Marcel Sentes, who has been the victim of a physical assault and then was then transported by EMS to the hospital. The next day on March 13, Sentes passed away.

Six days later, police arrested Sutherland for second-degree murder. He made his first court appearance today.
