Congratulations to the Assiniboia Spring Fever Lotto Winners

After several months of hard work, the Assiniboia Spring Fever Lotto wrapped up for 2024 over the weekend. Over the past 29 years, the lotto has helped Assiniboia and area fund several important projects including the all new Southland Co-op Centre arena. This year, the lotto aims to help various projects and sports organizations around the area continue to thrive for families.

The lotto is completely volunteer run with no big time salaries to pay out. All the funds stay in the area and are distributed by community-minded volunteers who want to make a difference in Assiniboia and surrounding area. Earlier this spring, Leonard Kafahoff of Langham, SK won the early bird prize of either a northern Saskatchewan fishing trip or $5,000. On Sunday, 54 draws including a 50/50 draw were made at Nelson GM in Assiniboia.

This year’s 50/50 winner of $85,835 was Terry Rein of Indian Head, SK.

The grand prize is a choice of $150,000 cash, an airplane package, a new truck, SUV, and golf cart package, or a farm and ranch package from either New Holland, Case IH, or John Deere. This year’s winner was Marc Bellanger of Mervin, SK. According to lotto organizers, he chose to take the cash. Mervin is a small town near the City of North Battleford.

A big thank you to everyone for buying and supporting this year’s Assiniboia Spring Fever Lotto. The rest of the winners will be notified over the next several days.
