WHL postpones Pats next two games due to COVID-19 concerns

The Regina Pats home-and-home series with the Saskatoon Blades will have to be played at a later date, as the WHL announced both games scheduled for Friday in Saskatoon and Saturday in Regina, have been postponed due to COVID-19 concerns.

This will be the second and third time the Pats have had a game postponed due to COVID-19 this season, as one against Swift Current originally set for on December 31st will also have to be made up at a later date.

In a news release the WHL did not specify how many players or staff from each team have tested positive for COVID-19, or were exhibiting symptoms, saying only that “multiple players and staff  from the four teams involved have being added to the WHL COVID-19 Protocol List, due to exhibiting symptoms or having tested positive for COVID-19.

Victoria and Prince George have also had a weekend home-and-home postponed.

No make up dates have been announced yet.

Tickets for Saturday’s home game will be honoured at the make up game.
