Sask. Sports Hall of Fame unveils newest features

All of the information and artifacts at the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame (SSHF) are now at the visitor’s fingertips.

Today the SSHF unveiled the next stage of their Hall of Fame Gallery developments, a new touch table and a 3D artifact display case.

SSHF Curator Bryann Seib said a lot of work has gone into the newest features at the hall of fame.

“We’ve spent over a year on this project of categorizing the artifacts, photos, videos, and stories of our 540 inductees.”

The 3D artifact display not only allows visitors an interactive way to view the artifacts, but according to Seib the newest features allow space within the museum for their exhibit displays.

“The 3-D case here allows us to feature some of our top 500 artifacts without taking space in our gallery. ”

To create the 3-D display case all of the artifacts were photographed and then rendered in 3-D format. The images of the artifacts can be rotated within so visitors can have a clear visual of the artifact without the SSHF having to physically display the artifact.

The SSHF partnered with Twisted Pair Productions to create the touch table and 3-D artifact display.

With normalcy returning following the COVID pandemic, Seib says it’s nice to have a regular flow of visitors in the SSHF.

“It’s so refreshing to see all these faces, school groups and general public enter back into our space. We exist here for the public and certainly our space is much brighter with people able to experience the in-house gallery experience.”

If you would like to visit the SSHF and try out the new touch table and 3D artifact display, you can book an appointment online. They also accept walk-in visitors.
