There were 832 labratory-confirmed new cases of COVID-19 reported in this week’s COVID-19 report from the province. The number of COVID deaths, however, went up to 28 last week compared to 13 in the previous week.
Of those who died, one person was between age 20-to-39, four were between 40 and 59 and two each were in their 60s and 70s. The remaining 19 were in people age 80 and over.
Twenty-two of those deaths occurred in the week of March 6th to 12th and the other six were recorded earlier but reported this week.
The number of hospitalizations went down from 336 last week to 299 as of March 16. The number in ICU went down from 24 to 18. There were 832 labratory-confirmed new cases of COVID-19 reported in this week’s COVID-19 report from the province.
The number of new cases was down from 1,013 in the previous week.
This week’s provincial rate of 27.1 COVID-like illness patients per 1,000 emergency hospital visits, was lower than the six-week average of 38.9/1,000 visits.
