Regina Police and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service have confirmed a death investigation that begun on Tuesday is now a homicide investigation.

This is the third murder in Regina in 2022.

Police received a report on Tuesday shortly after 2:30 in the afternoon of an unresponsive man laying outside at the 100 block of Davidson Crescent.

Police and EMS located the man and transported him to hospital where he would succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been identified as 27 year old Leslie Whitebear. The next of kin has been notified.
