Saturday night fire downtown challenges Regina Fire

A fire downtown late Saturday night was in a challenging location, but Regina Fire crews were able to put out the blaze.

At about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, crews were called to a service bay by the old Sears where a trash compactor was involved in flames. Calling it a challenging location, the fire also caused smoke alarms in a nearby apartment building to go off.

After a couple of hours at the location, there appeared to be little damage beyond the paper and cardboard outside of the compactor.
