Pats thumped 10-4 by archrival Warriors

In a game honouring the relationship between the Moose Jaw Warriors and the Snowbirds air demonstration squadron, the Regina Pats were grounded last night with a 10-4 decision.

The Pats were down 4-1 after the first period and 7-3 after 40 minutes. Cole Dubinsky, Tye Spencer, Braxton Whitehead and Connor Bedard scored Regina’s goals. Drew Sim and Matthew Kieper split time in net in the loss, combining for 23 saves. The Pats outshot Moose Jaw 45-33 in the contest.

Ten different Warriors hit the scoresheet, with defenceman Denton Mateychuk of the Warriors adding six assists.

The Pats next action is Tuesday in Swift Current against the Broncos, who the Pats now trail by two points for the eighth and final playoff spot.
