Saskatoon Fire department responds to blaze in RM of Corman Park

The Saskatoon Fire Department was greeted by clouds of smoke and heavy flames when they responded to a fire this morning at Shercom Industries.

The call came in at 6:21 a.m. via 911. Shercom Industries is located in Corman Park.

Three fire engines, one aerial ladder truck, one rescue unit, one water tanker were all dispatched with a Haz-mat unit standing by.

All employees had safely evacuated prior to the arrival of fire crews. Power was shut off to the building to minimize potential hazards. A water tanker is shuttling water to the scene as well.

There have been no reported injuries and Martensville Fire Department is assisting with the fire.

Shercom Industries recycles rubber and turns it into new usable products for playgrounds, driveways, decks and most recently signed a deal with Nike.
