Regina Pats defenceman Stanislav Svozil was recognized by the Western Hockey League as this week’s recipient of the Player of the Week award.
In three games last week, Svozil had a goal and seven assists. Regina went 2-1 as they faced the top teams in Eastern Conference, the Winnipeg ICE, the Red Deer Rebels and the Saskatoon Blades in a three-day span.
This season, Svozil leads all defencemen in the WHL with 62 assists. He is tied with Winnipeg’s Ben Zloty for the most amount of points by a defenceman (72).
The 2003-born defenceman was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in third round of the 2021 NHL Draft.
On Wednesday, Svozil and the Pats return to action when they host the Edmonton Oil Kings at the Brandt Centre.
