Spring has started with a bang around Regina with above seasonal average temperatures to kick off the season. The week could end off with somewhat of a whimper, with some colder temperatures moving in the area during the weekend.

Over the next couple of days, the daytime high for the Regina area is expected to be +8 which is well above the seasonal average of +2.

A weather front could be moving across Saskatchewan on Thursday that will be accompanied with heavy winds and the possibility of some precipitation.

Environment Canada’s Brad Proctor says the majority of the moisture will be south of Saskatchewan, likely on the eastern edge of Montana and North Dakota. He pointed out there could be some precipitation north of Regina, but added there could be some short lived flurry activity that could develop around the Regina area during Thursday evening.

An important thing Proctor says everyone should keep in mind is especially for this time of year, is rapid changing forecasts. He noted the weather front approaching Saskatchewan on Thursday should be active and the primary concern will be the heavy winds.
