Saskatchewan falls to 2-4 at the Brier

 

Saskatchewan’s stay at the 2023 Brier will be a short one, this morning they were defeated by Northern Ontario’s Tanner Horgan 9-3 in 9 ends dropping their record down to 2-4.

The loss drops the Saskatchewan rink out of playoff contention.

Kelly Knapp’s rink from the Highland Curling Club will finish out the round robin with a pair of matchups on Thursday against Northwest Territories Jamie Koe and Wild Card#2 Reid Carruthers.

In Pool A, the three playoff spots are held by Manitoba’s Matt Dunstone (6-0), Alberta’s Kevin Koe (6-0) and Horgan (5-1).

On the other side in Pool B, after the morning draw on Wednesday the playoff spots are occupied by Brendan Bottcher (5-1), Team Canada’s Brad Gushue (5-1) and Quebec’s Felix Asselin (4-2).

The playoffs at the Brier begins on Friday with the finals wrapping up on Sunday.
