Province invests $2 million in food banks

The Government of Saskatchewan is investing $2 million in Food Banks of Saskatchewan to help families cope with high food costs.

“With food prices rising, this funding is essential,” said Social Services Minister Gene Makowsky.

Food Banks of Saskatchewan will receive $1 million in August and another $1 million in 2025-26. Executive Director Michael Kincade highlighted the growing demand and shrinking donations at food banks.

This funding will support those in need as inflation impacts food security across the province.
