(Jamie) “The Hole” Is Actually Getting Filled

This morning as I was driving to work I noticed I wouldn’t be the only one working in the wee hours. The usual midnight shift workers were out and about. I noticed a couple of cop cars and more than a few taxis traversing the streets this morning.

There was also an addition to the all-night work force that I’ve noticed a time or two in the last month or so, although it doesn’t seem to happen on a daily basis. There was actually work going on at the Capital Pointe Plaza, known better for the last many years as simply “The Hole.”

A truck was just unloading a big pile of dirt while an excavator was patiently waiting to transfer that dirt into “The Hole.” I haven’t been by there in the daytime so I don’t know how much work actually goes on while the sun’s up, but I guess if you’ve got a lot of dirt to back up to the site for unloading, the less traffic the better.

After years of chanting “Fill that hole! Fill that hole!, what will our next chant be?
Judging by the calendar, that hole might be filled just in time for us to start with “Move that snow! Move that snow!

How many sleeps until the first day of winter?
