Pats busy weekend begins with loss to Blades

The Blades jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on Autism Awareness Night after goals by Tristen Robins and Chase Wouters. Midway through the period, Logan Nijhoff scored on the power play to make it 2-1 Saskatoon.

Early in the second period, the Blades went up 3-1. The Pats came back to tie it up with goals 16 seconds apart from Zack Smith and Austin Pratt. Late in the period, the Blades jumped back into the lead thanks to Riley McKay.

The Pats kept the score within one until the 16:49 mark, when the Blades made it 5-3. They would go on to add an empty netter to secure the 6-3 win.

The Blades outshot the Pats 36-27 in the game, spoiling Jakob Brook’s Pats debut and 100th game in the WHL. Ryker Evans also played in his 100th WHL game.
