Regina man charged after Thursday afternoon robbery

A Regina man has been charged in connection to a robbery in the city’s downtown on Thursday.

Police were dispatched to a business in the 1800 block of Scarth Street just after 2:00 pm. Preliminary information indicated a man entered the business and, when the employee at the counter stepped into the back part of the store. It is believed the man grabbed a tip jar from the counter.

The employee challenged the suspect and asked for the money back, and an argument ensued. A security employee attempted to stop the suspect, based on witness observations. The man was detained without further incident.
