Pats gain a point, but still fall 2-1 to Edmonton in OT

The Regina Pats were defeated by the Edmonton Oil Kings Saturday night 2-1 in overtime.

The scoring got underway with a power play goal from Jake Neighbours 15:49 into the first period, giving the Oil Kings a 1-0 lead.

That lead would hold until the 17:23 mark of the second period, when Austin Pratt scored his 18th of the season for the Pats, tying the game.

After a scoreless third period, the Oil Kings were able to end the game in overtime as Josh Williams potted his 22nd of the season.

Danton Belluk was pulled after the first period, but he and Donovan Buskey combined for a total of 39 saves on 41 shots.

The Pats are back in action Sunday afternoon when the Brandon Wheat Kings visit the Brandt Centre. Puck drop is 4:00 PM.
