The latest crop report says the majority of fields across Saskatchewan are rated fair to good.

Provincial crops analyst Cory Jacob says crop conditions range from poor to excellent but most are in good shape.

Jacob says rainfall ranged from a trace to 57 millimeters in the Turtleford area this past week.

He expects an average production this year.

He says crops are starting to ripen.

Jacob expects combines to be on the field in parts of the southern grainbelt in the coming week.

Some crops are 1 to 2 weeks behind normal development.

He says the majority of crop loss this past week was caused by high winds, hail, localized flooding, insects and crop diseases.

Haying is at 39 percent baled or put into silage and some areas will have a short supply because of dry weather.
