City planning commission says no to possible changes at Cook Residence

The city is saying no to a local developer on making changes to a home that has been designated as a heritage property.

Carmen Lien wanted to turn the home, on the 3100 block of Albert Street in the Lakeview subdivision, into a condo project after purchasing it back in 2018.  Part of the renovations would have been to demolish some of the home, but Lien had said the majority of the building’s facade would be preserved.

City administration has recommended that Lien’s application be denied.

A final vote on the matter will occur at a special meeting on Thursday
