Halloween is fast approaching and that means kids and kids at heart are thinking about their costumes and what to serve at Halloween parties. The first place many go to get costume ideas is Google and the search engine has generated their list of the trending Halloween searches for 2024.

For kids, the top five searches are: Taylor Swift, clown, Harley Quinn, a skeleton, and Barbie. For adults, the top five looks like this: Rapunzel, a mermaid, Harley Quinn, Monster Hight, and Toy Story. The top five trending costumes for couples include Joker and Harley Quinn, Bert and Ernie, Bonnie and Clyde, Barbie and Ken, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Google also determined the trending searches for Halloween party food. One would think chips and nuts might be high on the list, but apparently party planners are looking for something more tasty. The top five trending dishes are: apple crumble, pumpkin cookies, Halloween crack candy, Halloween pizza skulls, and the traditional candy apples. When it came to drinks, the most searched for included the zombie cocktail and witches brew.

Not everyone is in the mood to spend money on Halloween costumes this year. There were several Google searches made for do-it-yourself projects that could be made in the home. The top five list for homemade costumes are: Tinkerbell, a cat, a killer clown, a witch, and inside out.

And we can’t forget about scary movies because after a night of trick or treating it’s fun to eat chocolate and watch freaky movies. According to Google trends, the top five scary movies are “The Deliverance,” “Blink Twice,” “Cuckoo,” “Trap,” and “Strange Darling.”
