This world record is for the dogs

This past weekend’s weather was absolutely beautiful and people were out taking full advantage of these fall temperatures because we all know that the cold weather isn’t far behind. Seems like nearly every household has a dog nowadays and our four legged friends were certainly enjoying the nice weather as well.

A Canadian man has a set a world record in dog walking. Mitchell Rudy accomplished the record in South Korea recently, walking 38 dogs at the same time for one kilometer. The previous record was 36 dogs at once.

The dogs that he walked were rescues from puppy mills and dog meat harvesters. Believe it or not, some of the dogs in this world record attempt were destined to be eaten. Rudy decided to set this record to help raise awareness in South Korea about dog adoption and to voice his opposition to puppy mills and dog meat harvesting. The record also raised awareness for Korean K9 Rescue and for a cryptocurrency project called BONK, which Rudy is associated with. Back in January, South Korea passed a bill banning the consumption of dogs.

With that many dogs on that many leashes, it’s unclear if Rudy was walking the dogs or the dogs were walking Rudy!
