Pumpkin Patrol Night (Audio)

Access Communications is rolling out the Pumpkin Patrol tonight across Saskatchewan. Twenty-eight years of public safety for children across the province by offering help should a situation arise.

The Pumpkin Patrol will be in the following communities: Air Ronge/La Ronge, The Battlefords, Estevan, Martensville, Melville, Regina, Warman, Weyburn, and Yorkton. Access volunteers are patrolling community streets from 5 to 8:30 tonight. The specially marked Access vehicles feature a glow-in-the-dark Access sign and flashing orange lights. If someone appears lost, injured or in trouble during their trick or treat journey, the volunteers are approachable in the Pumpkin Patrol vehicle. Those volunteers will directly contact local law enforcement.

Halloween is not just for children, more than ever people are spending all kinds of money on costumes for adult parties, decorating their homes and yards for everyone’s enjoyment and also using their “hauntings” as fundraisers for local charities. Remember to make your kid’s costume as safe as you can. Use make up and refrain from masks and costumes that may cause tripping. That includes candy carriers. Empty often so wee ghosts are spilling their goodies. Have fun and respect the properties you visit.
