Regina’s new mayor went basically to the limit when it comes to campaign contributions.
Numbers released by the city show that those running for mayor could have a limit of $68,776 dollars with Sandra Masters having a number of $68,920 with Masters raising $67,900 of that.
Former mayor Michael Fougere was also close to the limit as he had a total of $64,047 with Fougere raising $63,574.
Amongst Masters’ benefactors were local entrepreneur Jennifer Denouden who donated over $11,000 dollars and businessman Bruce Axelson who donated $8,000.
When it comes to counciloors, the most expensive campaign belonged to new Ward 10 councillor Landon Mohl who spent just over $11,250 dollars with the limit being $11,393 dollars
Each contributor of $500 or more for those running for mayor and $200 or more for those seeking a council spot had to be disclosed
