It has become a tradition for many Saskatchewan families now – to go and see the CPKC Holiday Train. Once again, the train will be rolling across Canada and parts of the United States this fall and winter as it raises funds and food for local food banks in cities, towns, and villages CPKC serves. According to the rail company, the holiday train has raised over $24 million for food banks and brought in more than 5.3 million pounds of food since 1999.
There will be two trains running this year with different routes and various performers from both Canada and the United States delighting audiences in seven provinces and 13 states. Performers include the James Barker Band, Seaforth, Tyler Shaw, KT Tunstall, Shawnee Kish, Alana Springsteen (no relation to Bruce Springsteen), Magic, and many others.
