Northern Saskatchewan school bus driver charged with impaired driving

Quick action by Buffalo River Dene Nation security officers and school staff led to the arrest of an impaired school bus driver on November 19th.

Observing signs of intoxication, they attempted to stop the driver from operating the bus, which had approximately 50 children onboard.

Dillon RCMP located the bus after the children had been dropped off safely. The 45-year-old driver was charged with impaired driving and exceeding the legal blood alcohol limit.

His driver’s license has been suspended, and he will appear in court on December 18. RCMP commended the community for its vigilance.
