All girls hockey camp coming to White City (AUDIO)

It may only be August but it’s a good time to start thinking about lacing up the skates and getting ready for another hockey season. Thanks to female hockey greats like Hayley Wickenheiser and Cassie Campbell, a new generation of female hockey players have become inspired and excited about the sport.

An all girls hockey camp coached by Cassie Schlamp of Regina along with the members of the Regina Midget AAA Rebels is set for August 10th and 11th at the White City Arena.

“I’m coming up on my fourth year coaching this year and I’ve won few provincial titles in my coaching career and I’m also involved in the Saskatchewan Hockey Association (by) running camps and helping them out with Sask First” explained Schlamp.

She says this upcoming hockey camp will focus on  skating, shooting, passing, and, of course, having fun. Novice, Pee Wee, and Atom levels are welcome to attend the sessions which get underway at 10 a.m. each day. The camp will include four on ice sessions and four dryland sessions.

“Until Friday night we still have some spots available, so if anyone wants to fill those spots, that would be great,” noted Schlamp.
