The captain of the Regina Pats has a good excuse to be California dreaming these days.
Logan Nijhoff signed a pro contract on Thursday with the San Diego Gulls of the AHL. San Diego the minor league affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks
This season with the Pats, Nijhoff has picked up 20 goals and 23 assists. Nijhoff has worn the “C” for the Pats over the past two seasons.
During is time with the Pats, he has appeared in 226 games and has accumulated 117 points.
He ranks fifth in the WHL in face-off win percentage at 58.3% and fifth in face-off wins with 741 this season.
This past week, he recorded his first hat trick in the WHL against the Brandon Wheat Kings.
