An unenviable day for first responders and families Sunday in the Warman area, as fatal collisions claimed the lives of three people in two separate crashes.
Two people are dead following a collision on Highway #7 near Delisle on Sunday morning.
RCMP say two SUVs collided around 8 a.m. The driver of one SUV, a 73-year-old man from Wiseton, and a passenger in the other SUV, a 65-year-old woman from Furdale, died at the scene.
The driver of the second SUV was flown to hospital with serious injuries. The highway was temporarily closed but has reopened. Warman RCMP and collision reconstructionists are continuing their investigation.
Then, a 42-year-old man from Airdrie, Alberta, died after a collision on Highway #7 near Laura, SK, on Sunday night.
RCMP say an SUV and a pickup truck collided around 10:50 p.m. The SUV’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized.
The crash closed Highway #7 for several hours but it has since reopened. RCMP and a collision reconstruction team are investigating.
