Incident leads to two people facing multiple weapons and drug charges

After an incident last week, a man and a woman are facing multiple weapons and drug charges.

Twenty-eight-year-old Cain Lindahl and thirty-six-year-old Clara Rainville were arrested on Thursday after the Street Gangs Unit conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 Block of McTavish Street shortly after 9:30 p.m.

Attempts to get all suspects to exit the vehicle were not successful, and as a result, officers used a tool to break windows from a distance. Following the use of the tool, all three suspects exited the vehicle and were arrested without further incident.

A search of the vehicle and the suspects turned up methamphetamine, fentanyl, Canadian currency and other items consistent with drug trafficking. A loaded firearm and ammunition were also recovered from the vehicle.

Lindahl is charged with:

  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking;
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000;
  • Possession of a Weapon;
  • Careless Use of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition;
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm;
  • 3 x Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order; and
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Rainville is charged with:

  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking;
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000;
  • Possession of a Weapon;
  • Careless Use of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition; and
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.

Both Lindahl and Rainville made their first court appearances on April 8.
