February in southern Saskatchewan goes in the record books as very cold and dry.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Terri Lang, says Regina was more than seven degrees colder than the normal of minus 11.7 degrees.
She says few records were broken, mainly afternoon highs.
She says Regina had its 18th coldest February.
Most centres show the temperature five to eight degrees below normal in February.

Lang adds precipitation in February in Regina was 1.6 millimeters, only 17 percent of normal and the 7th driest February in 133 years of data.
While Regina was on the dry end for the month, Moose Jaw was on the wet end at 5.9 millimeters but still 47 percent below normal.
For December through February, she says the overall temperature was only slightly warmer than normal but snowfall was 57 percent below normal and the 9th driest on record.
