AC Leonard will be back in green for two more years. And back terrorizing opposing quarterbacks.
The team announced Monday that they have signed Leonard to a contract extension through the 2023 season.
Leonard led the CFL with 11 sacks in the 14-game season. He played just 11 of those games, due to a three-game suspension. Leonard also sealed a Week 1 win versus the Lions with an interception.
The 29 year old has played with the Riders for four seasons, since moving to defensive end. He started his CFL career as a receiver with the Lions in 2015.
With the move, the Rider have the CFL’s two QB sack leaders back for 2022. Jonathan Woodard, who was second in the league with 10 sacks, is already under contract for next season.
