Yesterday afternoon we all got an email from our engineer informing us that the security system in the entire building was getting changed and we’d all need new pass keys to get into the building that would take effect today. That would be good for those who are rolling into work after 8 this morning because the front door would already be open for them. What about me? How would I get in?

I emailed our engineer who told me he didn’t really know how, but I would be good to get in this morning. I went to bed without giving it another thought.

This morning when I pulled up to the station I noticed our engineer standing in the front door waiting for me. I thought he might be a tad bit grouchy coming into work at 3 just to give me my new key, but he was rather jovial, albeit a little tired. Instead of going to bed last night he figured he’d stay up until I came in. Good thing I wasn’t late this morning!

Before he left to get some much needed shuteye he left me with new pass keys for the entire morning crew here at the station, so before I got down to work I texted everyone and told them to give me a call when they got to work and I would meet them at the front door with their new keys.

I guess I could be a jerk and not answer the phone and have the entire three radio stations to myself this morning, but that would be just too much work to tackle on a Friday morning.
