A local man is facing robbery and weapon charges after an incident from Monday night.

Shortly after 6:30 pm Regina police received a report of a weapons offence on the 1100 block of Angus Street.

A suspect was yelling at a woman demanding her phone. A man attempted to intervene and then the suspect then began to walk over to the man with a knife in his hand. The man pushed the suspect away and then the man got into a parked car and then  drove away.

Police then arrived and after an investigation, it was determined the woman was a victim of an attempted robbery. The suspect was trying to rob the woman of her phone, and produced a knife to threaten her.

21 year old Keagon Ritchie is facing weapon and robbery charges. His first court appearance is Tuesday in Regina.
