After a season that saw three wins taken away due to an ineligible player that resulted in them missing the playoffs, the University of Regina Rams are ready to kick off the 2019 Canada West football season with a game in Vancouver against the UBC Thunderbirds.

Going into the season, a poll done by football coaches had the Rams coming in dead last.  That doesn’t surprise head coach Steve Bryce because of the loss of players like quarterback Noah Picton and running back Atlee Simon, but he believes his team won’t be the pushover that others think they will be.

“I’m confident we can compete with anybody.” Bryce said. “Even though we are in a rebuilding phase, I think we will be competitive and if we have some early success, we could surprise some people,
