SaskTel has selected Samsung as the sole vendor for the 5G Network coming to Saskatchewan.

Samsung will be supplying the hardware, software and expertise in deploying the network. Minister Responsible for SaskTel Don Morgan says the 5G network will allow for continued growth for Saskatchewan’s tech sector.

In the last 11 years, SaskTel has invested over $3 billion throughout the province to continue bolstering networks.

The Crown Corporation says the addition of 5G will prepare for the future demand and user experience.

SaskTel is planning on investing $324 million of capital across Saskatchewan between this year and last year, and will invest over $1.6 billion through to 2025.
