Riot edged 33-31 by Manitoba Fearless

The Regina Riot got close but couldn’t beat the Manitoba Fearless last night in Winnipeg, dropping a 33-31 decision last night. The loss brings the Riot’s record to 1-1 on the Western Women’s Canadian Football League season.

Rookie starting quarterback Shanelle Rioux from Estevan continued her hot start to the year, passing for three scores to give her six touchdown passes after two games. Kasey McCombs rushed for two touchdowns, giving the Yorkton three majors on the season.

The Riot are next in game action May 28th in Saskatoon against the defending champion Valkyries.  The Riot hosts the rematch June 4 at Mosaic Stadium to wrap up the regular season.
