65 of Saskatchewan’s 115 new COVID-19 cases are from Regina

Over half of the new COVID-19 cases being reported on in Saskatchewan Thursday come from the Regina zone.

65 of the 115 new cases are from Regina as the city continues to be a hot-spot.  Of the 1,282 active cases in Saskatchewan,  527 are in the Regina zone.

The other new cases are located in the Far North West (1), North West (4), North Central (3), North East (3), Saskatoon (15), Central West (2), Central East (5),  South West (3), South Central (3) and South East (8) zones

Hospitalizations are down by three from yesterday as there are now 136 receiving care with 27 of those in the intensive care unit.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 128 or 10.4 new cases per 100,000 population.

There are 135 confirmed variant of concern cases with 121 of those or 90 percent in the Regina zone.  The Regina zone also has 368 of the 433 presumptive variant of concern cases.

5,430 vaccines were administered on Wednesday with almost half of those in Regina.  A majority of those shots would have been taken at the AstraZeneca clinic at Evraz Place.
