The population for the Regina Census Metropolitan Area  grew by 1.7 per cent from 2021 to 2022, according to some numbers released this week by Statistics Canada.
The population of Regina is, as of July 1 of last year, at 268,804, and the population increased here in the Queen City by 4,429.
There was a natural increase of 824, and a net international migration of 6,291, while 3,162 people moved out of the province to other parts of Canada and 476 moved in from other regions of Canada.

Saskatoon gained a whopping 7,666 people to bump their population up to 347,536.

Not all places in Saskatchewan gained population at the rate that the two biggest cities did.

Moose Jaw saw a decrease of 27 people, Estevan lost 141 people, while Swift Current gained 127 people. Prince Albert lost three people and Weyburn lost seven. Yorkton gained 30 people.
