It was day one of the KIOTI Tractor Champions Cup at the Co-Operators Centre with three draws to begin the event.
In the first draw, Kelly Knapp’s rink from the Highland Curling Club was defeated by Brendan Bottcher 7-2. The other matchup from the men’s division saw Ross Whyte’s squad edged out Joel Retrornaz team 5-4.
On the women’s side, the Satsuki Jujisawa beat Eun Ji Gim 8-6. Also in the first draw, the Silvana Tirinzoni team defeated the Hasselborg team 11-0 in 5 ends.
The second draw of the day, Matt Dunstone picked up his first win with a 6-3 over Reid Carruthers and Niklas Edin beat the Andrew Stopera 10-5 in 5 ends.
On the Women’s side, Rachel Homan’s defeated Tabitha Peterson 7-4 in 7 ends and Clancy Grandy picked up a win against Kaitlyn Lawes.
In the final draw of the day reigning Brier champion Brad Gushue earned a 8-2 win against Pat Ferris. Bruce Mouat beat John Schuaster in 6-3.
Kerri Einarson emerged with her first win over Isabelle Ladouceur. Jennifer Jones gained her fiest vin on Sunday as she defeated Marianne Roervik.
Action continues on the Wednesday with three draws.
