The Saskatoon Fire Department says they are on the scene of a hazmat call after an unknown substance was found behind Quality Inn and Suites on Idylwyld Drive North.

The Fire Department says hazmat crews are working to identify the origin of the substance through a variety of testing processes.

So far, one person suffered direct exposure to the substance but their condition is unknown.

There is no risk to any members of the public who have not been directly exposed.

There will be a large police and fire presence in the area such as a fire engine, the hazmat unit, a decontamination unit, and a mobile command unit.
