Saskatchewan animal protection services has made one of its largest livestock seizures ever.
Executive director Don Ferguson says 308 cattle were seized on a farm near Whitkow in early April.
He says the animals were in distress.
The animals were later sold at auction after receiving food and veterinary care.
Farmer Morris Takoryk insists he provided sufficient food, saying cold and predators were causes of cattle death on the farm.
He appears in court June 27th.
Whitcow is 400 kilometers northwest of Regina.
