Saskatchewan RCMP respond to over 400 calls related to COVID-19 public health order violations

Saskatchewan RCMP say they have responded to 436 calls for service related to the provincial public health order since it was issued on March 26th.

Between March 26th and 31st, RCMP say there were 57 calls regarding social gatherings of over 10 people, which resulted in seven warnings and one charge laid.

Another 110 complaints were made about people failing to self isolate when required to do so, which resulted in 27 warnings, and 13 complaints were connected to businesses not complying with the public health order, which resulted in three warnings.

RCMP say the majority of the calls were resolved in educating the public of the health and enforcement consequences that can result from not complying with the public health order, and that officers are responsible for ensuring they do their part to limit the spread of COVID-19.

RCMP is encouraging the public to report those not complying with the public health order to their local detachment.
