The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is receiving a large donation of respirators that have been waiting for over a decade.
Harvard Developments Inc. announced this week they are giving 2,880 N95 respirators after the SHA approved their stockpile. The stockpiles were recently sanctioned by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The masks were initially acquired by Harvard during the 2009 H1N1 outbreak, but were kept “in the bowels of Hill Tower I.”
“We would like to extend our thanks to all medical staff during this pandemic,” stated Harvard Developments in a social media post.
“You truly are heroes and we cannot thank you enough.”
Harvard mentioned they have outfitted their essential service personnel with P-100 respirators which were readily available back in February when purchased.
