An Edmonton man has been charged with arson after an incident from early Monday morning.

Police were dispatched to the Highway #1 service road near Lewvan Drive for a reported structure fire. Early reports were that a man was seen walking away from the building shortly after the fire was set.

A suspect who matched a description given to police was found just north of the service road. He was taken to hospital by EMS due to burns on his body.

30 year-old Brian Moncrieff faces a single charge of arson, and will make his first court appearance in September.
