Regina Police Service uses taser over weekend

The Regina Police Service had to deploy a taser over the weekend to gain control of a man who was threatening self-harm.

On Saturday, at about 7:40 a.m., police received a call for service to the 1600 block of Albert Street.

The man was damaging vehicles, jumping in front of moving vehicles on the street and acting aggressively. When officers arrived, they spotted the man on the roof of a business.

A lengthy negotiation would follow; however, the male refused to cooperate.

Hours later, in the early afternoon, officers deployed the tasers, and the man was taken into custody by police. He was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
