The Discovery Farm near Langham has hired Joel Peru as its Farm and Field Manager.

The Discovery Farm is home to a variety of research projects, as well as Ag in Motion, usually held in July.

Peru grew up in Saskatoon, but spent his summers working on his grandparent’s 4,000 acre grain farm in southwest Saskatchewan.

Prior to joining the Discovery Farm, Peru was an irrigation agrologist with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture in Outlook.

He was also named Young Agrologist of the Year in 2020 by the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists.

Peru’s responsibilities at the Discovery Farm including managing equipment and inputs during the growing season, maintaining research protocols and overseeing irrigation programs across the site.
