The Battlefords North Stars will be competing for a national title on Sunday thanks to a 7-1 victory over the Portage Terriers on Saturday.

It was a dominating performance by the North Stars after they opened up a four-goal cushion lead in the first period.

Holden Doell had a pair of goals with Alex Izyk, Steven Kesslering, Jake Southgate, Bradley Blake and Riley Girod added single-markers for Battlefords.

The North Stars will now meet the Brooks Bandits in the Centennial Cup finals. The Bandits defeated the Ottawa Jr. Senators 3-0 earlier the day on Saturday to advance to the finals.
